Family Camp 2007 reflections

Author: Nick Wickham

This year at family camp we went to cathedral Gorge. We hiked and squeezed through tiny holes to get to moon caves. We used a rope to rock climb up about 22 feet up to get deeper into the caves. We participated in a world wide activity called Geo Caching, which was very fun.

Geo means 'earth' and cache means 'treasure' , so Geo Caching is finding treasures all over the world. Coordinates can be found on-line, then you can hike to the location and find the container. Inside the container are small “treasures” left by other people. When you open it you leave a note or small something. You can take a ‘treasure’ out only if you leave something in exchange. Mrs. Jarvis really liked Geo caching. We also went swimming in a water hole. Mr Olsen really liked our Fortune Teller skit, but he is still waiting for a punch-line. Hope to have more of us next year at Family Camp. Thanks for a great time!
